"I was a High school teacher for 3 years before coming back to PCH full time. I sort of figured out that the world of education just isn't for me, and that my talents for communication, and my passion for teaching, could be best served elsewhere. The world of cofee, from roasting it to serving it, is cast and deep. Any liberal-arts-minded-person such as myself can find meaning in this type of work. Now I'm currently trying to marry these two worlds together-by becoming PCH's Coffee Trainer and Head Roaster, I feel like I'm back on a path that makes sense to me. I think that life is a journey about figuring out where we're supposed to be and where we are headed- and those are both impossible without first standing in a good place, with good people, for a good while."

"I have worked a handful of coffee shop gigs, and this one takes the cake! The Peekskill Coffee House is a place built on community, gratitude, and general kindness for one another. I always feel respected and compensated for the time and energy I put into my work here. When I first started this job 6 years ago, I had a lot of social anxiety and low self-confidence. I can happily say that this place and the people who work here had a strong hand in helping me grow with kindness and patience. I’ve learned to trust my intuition, make decisions with confidence, and become a more open and communicative individual. These skills, among others, are ones I can take with me wherever I go, and exercise in multiple areas of my life."
